PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Head of IT Development Team is responsible for building, maintaining, and working on enterprise-grade software systems from large such as ERP (S/4 HANA; AX2009; Infor M3; Operator; Preactor APS, Qlik sense; Saperion, Sharepoint and etc.) to custom build systems, around the group of companies.
A person must be familiar with all the policies, procedures, and technical issues related to software. It is the “go-to” man (or woman) when it comes to new or existing software/application’s related questions/solutions.
Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with the best practices for the delivery of scalable and high-quality software.
Manage and execute software development projects from the beginning to end.
Maintain high standards of software quality and SLA within the team by establishing good practices and processes.
Prepare reports, manuals, SLA, and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software.
Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.
Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
Create, supervise, and lead the development of the technical roadmap of all projects in all VMG group companies.
Create and enforce policies for effective data management in the group.
Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders, etc.
Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
Assist with reports and data extraction when needed.
Monitor and analyze information, data systems, and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades, etc.).
Ensure the protection of digital databases and archives from security breaches and data losses.
Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
Provide support to business users.
Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
Experience such as technical lead, coaching, and mentoring a diverse, geographically distributed team.
Must be a good leader, guide, support for the team, business, and technology partners with solution development.
Good understanding of strategic, new, and emerging technology trends be able to implement them.
Understanding of agile methods and processes, the capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
Organizationally savvy, with a good understanding of the enterprise's political climate and how to navigate in it.
The candidate will be expected to monitor production support queues, be available on-call, assist in resolving production issues as well as help identify opportunities for improvement of the processes.
Must have experience with strategic planning, developing, and managing budgets.
Fluent in English and Russian – both writing and verbal.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirement 5+ years’ experience in IT technical or operational leadership/managerial position.
University bachelor’s degree in computer/information Science or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in designing and developing enterprise grade software.
Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments.
Experience in automated testing, knowledge of agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum.
Experience with database development including relational database design, SQL technologies.
Experience with user interface design and prototyping, configuring, and developing customizations for Microsoft SharePoint.
Great interpersonal and communication skills.
Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories.
Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team.
Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders.
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
Strong initiative in finding ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
Salary from 3000 eur gross.
